Did you know?
The Pallas’s cat, also known as the “manul”, demonstrates an exceptional ability to survive in extreme environmental conditions.
The colour of its coat, its low-set ears and flat head allow it to camouflage itself effectively in the landscape. Its yellow-green eyes display round pupils, an unusual characteristic among small wild cats.
Threats and conservation
The Pallas’s cat faces serious threats, mainly caused by the degradation of its natural habitat.
Furthermore, the decline of its prey contributes to its decrease, while it is itself targeted by poaching, mainly for its fur.
