Did you know?

The Javan langur can display either black or orange fur, a phenomenon still unexplained by scientists. At birth, all baby Javan langurs have orange fur, which may or may not change as they grow.

Threats and conservation

Javan langur populations are declining due to human activities (deforestation, poaching, trafficking). Led by the Aspinall Foundation in Indonesia, the Javan langur conservation programme has as its main objective the reinforcement of populations through the reintroduction of individuals into protected forests.
