Did you know?

The Bengal tiger is a solitary predator. It favours dense environments for hunting, taking advantage of vegetation cover to camouflage itself effectively. Some individuals are born with a genetic mutation that gives them a white coat. Unfortunately, this colour makes them too visible in their natural habitat, compromising their survival.

Threats and conservation

The tiger is threatened by habitat loss, poaching and illegal trade, which has led to the extinction of certain subspecies. To counter these dangers, initiatives such as Project Tiger in India and the actions of the WWF and WCS aim to protect tigers and their habitats, by combating poaching and monitoring populations.
