Did you know?
With a tail 2/3 the size of its body, the yellow-throated marten stands out as the largest of the Eurasian martens. They are mostly diurnal. In general, yellow-throated martens travel on the ground, but they can capably climb trees and travel from tree to tree by jumping as far as 8 or 9 m.
Threats and conservation
The yellow-throated marten is not considered a threatened species, due to its wide distribution throughout Asia. Although sometimes hunted for its fur, it is protected in many parts of its range, notably Myanmar, Malaysia and China.
