Description
The white-winged duck is discreet, preferring toperch under the forest canopy during the day, andfeeding at waterholes or rice paddies, preferably atdawn and dusk. This bird is monogamous, usually observed in pairsor small family groups.
Threats and preservation
Over the last 30 years, this species has suffereda rapid and severe decline, largely attributed to deforestation and the fragmentation of its habitat. It is also a victim of poaching and egg collection.
