Description
The snow leopard is perfectly adapted to the cold conditions ofits habitat. Its thick coat becomes even denser in winter and its small round ears help retain heat. With its broad, snowshoe-like paws, the snow leopard can move quietly on the snow without sinking. Its spotted coat allows it to blend perfectly into the snowy mountains, providing ideal camouflage to surprise its prey.
Threats and perservation
The tiger is threatened by habitat loss, poaching, and illegal trade, which hasled to the extinction of certain subspecies. To counter these dangers, initiatives such as the Tiger Project in India and actions by WWF and WCS aim to protect tigers and their habitats, fighting against poaching and monitoring populations.
