Description
The communication of the ring-tailed lemur is rich and varied. This lemur uses visual signals, vocalizations, and scent marking. Males engage in ‘stink fights,’ during which they rub their scent glands on their tails to project odors onto their opponents. To stimulate their secretions, they expose their glands to the sun by adopting the ‘lotus position.
