Description

The black lemurs exhibit marked sexual dimorphism: males have black fur, while females have brownish-beige fur. Primarily arboreal, their activity periods are both diurnal and nocturnal, a pattern known as cathemeral. However, they seem to be more active at night, particularly to access nectar available during the nocturnal flowering of certain trees in the dry season.
